Orange County Sheriff’s Office charged Linda Brantley with aggravated child abuse.

The 7 and 8-year-old girls told investigators their grandma inflicted harsh physical punishments on them: She made them stand with their hands in the air for extended periods of time, forced them to sleep on the ground without pillows and blankets and bound their wrists with dog collars, WFTV reported.

One time, the 58-year-old chained the girls to a washing machine and used a doggie gate to make sure they couldn’t get out of the laundry room, investigators said. The sisters had to spend the night tied there, officials said.

Brantley allegedly denied the children toys, and neighbors said they rarely saw the girls outside.

Deputies arrested Brantley after the Department of Children and Families reported her, WKMG reported. The two girls and their 9-year-old brother have been placed in foster care.

Brantley bonded out of jail shortly after her arrest. A judge ordered her to stay away from her granddaughters and anyone under the age of 18.

Deputies are still investigating the case.
