From faux locs to cornrows

Not sure which style to rock this month or week? We got you as usual. This week, we look at simple and easy to achieve styles which are effortlessly trendy as seen on some of your favorite celebrities. From faux locs to cornrows, here are hairstyle inspirations of the week.

1. NTV's Grace Ekirapa's slick top faux bun is stunning.

The beauty with faux buns is the fact that the styling options are limitless. If you have natural hair, you can use Marley hair or other types of braid hair to achieve a faux bun or ponytail if you don't want to relax your hair. If your hair is relaxed, your hairdresser can use a human hair weave to achieve the faux bun. We love how Ekirapa added flair by braiding part of the faux bun. This style is perfect for an occasion where you need to glam up, say a wedding or special event.

2. Miss Karun's green hair.

Colored hair is so in vogue at the moment. If you're looking to spruce up your short natural hair, what better way than by adding color? Think of something vibrant and bold such as sunset orange, green or even hues of pink. This style is perfect for creatives and those in campus as the color may not be suitable for some professional setups.

3. Makeup artiste extraordinaire, Muthoni Njoba's hair is giving us goddess vibes.

One might argue that Fulani braids and goddess braids have been overdone. But we love how Muthoni added an unexpected twist to the style by infusing the cornrows with a weave to achieve a style that looks like it's Habesha inspired. This style Would definitely require some expertise seeing as if the weave is not infused properly, one may end up looking like a walking disaster.

4. Amber Ray's chunky faux locs.

Tried faux locs yet? If not, why not go for lengthy and chunky faux locs like the socialite? Try having them lengthy so that you can style them into a top knot bun. There's no denying that it's a pretty edgy style that's effortless and can work for both formal and informal setups.

5. K24's Sharon Kate is sporting lovely burgundy ponytail cornrows.

If you're looking to braid hair, a little color will not hurt. Instead of going for the usual black braids, try something like burgundy cornrows for a change.
