Miss Ghana officials pay courtesy call on Northern Regional Minister

Officials of Miss Ghana 2015 have paid a courtesy call on the Regional Minister for Northern Region, Mr Mr. James Zuugah Tiigah. The team led by Inna Patty, CEO of Exclusive Events Ghana visited the Minister on Thursday, September 3 after their arrival in Tamale to audition for Miss Ghana 2015.

Mr. James Zuugah Tiigah communicating with the team applauded them for continuously projecting the Ghanaian culture through the beauty pageant.  The Minister who was happy to meet the delegated team said the success of many Northerners is as a result of the support from women but not men as many may think. According to him, women sacrifice many things in life to see the success of their children unlike their husbands.

“We are all here because our mothers worked so hard for us. If you see any gentleman or doctor, don’t attribute it to the men but give credit to the women. The mothers worked so hard to make sure they went to school so I will support any programme that will help the women” the Northern Regional Minister said.

He added that Miss Ghana helps educate the public on the geographical area of the three northern regions. He said some Ghanaians still see the three northern regions as one.

“Your pageant is helping Ghanaians to know people in the north … and the very rich diverse area’’.

Pageants like this help position Ghana locally and internationally; ‘we are happy you are in our region because you are really telling Ghanaians that there is another corner that is brighter”

He continued that “I’m happy you are doing this because people are gradually losing their identity. People are beginning to think that family is just only my father and mother forgetting that everybody belongs to a society’’.

Miss Inna Party speaking on behalf of the team thanked the Minister for the warm reception and promised coming back to the region. Miss Inna visited the minister with actress Kafui Danku, current brand ambassador for Miss Ghana, Nadia Ntanu and many others.
