The partnership is necessitated by tourists’ constant demand for safety and comfort during festivities like Kwahu Easter.

“Njoy Ghana Tours” was launched on Tuesday, March 28 to help take people from Accra to any tourist attraction in Ghana.

The partnership is also necessitated by tourists’ constant demand for safety and comfort during festivities like Kwahu Easter.

Speaking at the event, the C.E.O of Kaya Tours and media mogul, Abeiku Santana, said tourism plays a vital role in Ghana’s economy and this partnership will help promote ‘domestic tourism drive’.

Abeiku said: “…It has become imperative for Africa destinations to grow their own domestic tourism….There are some parts of Ghana which hasn’t seen much of economic activities. And we believe that domestic tourism drive is the best way we can promote economic activities in the less patronise attractions.”

Explaining why the partnership, Abeiku divulged: “‘Njoy Ghana Tours’ will join hands with the organisations that are vigorously promoting domestic tourism. This is our first initiative of taking people from Accra to any tourist attraction in Ghana in the comfort of the luxurious Intercity STC Coaches Limited. Why are we doing this? We are cooperating with STC because ‘safety’ is very cheap when it comes to tourism.

The United Nation theme for this year’s World Tourism celebration is ‘sustainable tourism’. In recent times, we heard of students who embarked on an excursion and on their way back involved in a fatal accident. So who becomes sustainable tourism if safety and security in our transportation sector are not imbibed in the tourism drive?”

“And in Ghana, you and I know that when it comes to transport operator who has well-trained, more organised and efficient transport system, it’s Intercity STC. So we decided to partner with Intercity STC to drive this tourism awareness” Abeiku Santana concluded.
