Louis Vuitton showcases its Cruise Collection in Rio Ahead of the Olympic Games.

The fashion big brands have taken it upon themselves to make the South American continent their new destination for their resort collection.

First it was Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel that made a big buzz in the city of Havana, Cuba with their resort collection and now Nicholas Ghesquiere has in Rio.

The French brand unveiled their cruise collection on Saturday (May 27) at the Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Niterói with an island backdrop befitting the Brazilian theme that inspired the collection.

The models came out of the museum unto the runway in graphic prints, leather jackets, more curvy styles than the usual capes and strapless dresses they  are known for.

Technology-wise, they didn’t fare bad at all. They are offering boom box bags that can actually play music via bluetooth technology and flip-flop hybrid shoes that will surely become a big trend this year.
