Imagine how much time it would save you every morning, if you have a well-organised jewellery collection.

1. The tackle box

While heading out for a DIY supply dash, pick up a tackle or screw box for nifty storage. The tiny compartments are ideal to separate each necklace, earring or bracelet.

2.The towel rod

Think outside the box and install a towel rod, not by the sink, but by your dressing table or mirror, with shower curtain hooks upon which to hang your neckpieces.

3. The eye box

Fish those egg boxes out of the recycling, cut off the lids and cut down them to size, and install them in your dressing table drawers as handy compartmentalised storage.

4.The artist's palette

Make like Picasso ) and repurpose a clean artist's palette  as an ideal earring dish.

5.The ice cube tray

Snaffle your tray out of the freezer and fill it with your sparklers.

6.The coat rack

Suspend your strings of pearls stylishly by upcycling a coat rack - for the craft whizzes, you could even switch out the basic knobs for pretty mismatched ones you've no doubt acquired from charming antiques markets.

7. DIY bracelet/watch storage

For those with a fraction more time on their hands, watch organiser is the perfect solution. All you need is a couple of cardboard tubes, some pretty paper or material and some sellotape and you're good to go.

8.The hardware store chain

Possibly the most genius solution of the lot, is to hang a length of hardware store chain horizontally, in which to hook your dangly earrings. So simple it makes you want to kick yourself.
