Brown beef stew


  1. Beef

  2. Cooking oil

  3. Onions, chopped

  4. Cloves garlic, minced

  5. Carrots, diced

  6. All purpose flour

  7. Tomato puree

  8. Seasoning

  9. Salt to taste

  10. Pepper




  1. Trim off any large pieces of fat from the outside of the beef, then cut it into small bite-sized cubes.

  2. Wash twice, season and leave to marinade for few minutes.

  3. Heat cooking oil and fry beef until it turns brown.

  4. Set beef aside

  5. Add the onions and carrots, and cook until the onions are softened and translucent, 8-10 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, 30 seconds.

  6. Stir in the tomato paste, pepper and salt

  7. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables. Stir until there is no more visible flour and the veggies look slightly mushy from the flour coating.

  8. Cover to cook for 5-10 minutes.

  9. Return meat to stew, stir and cover to simmer.

  10. Serve brown beef stew with rice or yam.
