High protein increases blood acidity and may cause kidney stones

If you consume more protein than your body needs, do so for a short period of time and drink a lot of water to avoid any health damage in the future.

Our bodies breakdown protein into amino acids, some of which the body produces naturally on it’s own, but there are 9 ‘essential’ amino acids that the body can’t produce and has to rely on protein to make.

However when protein is digested, it has to make its way through your liver and kidneys, which can cause a lot of strain on your kidneys.
