Aiming to be the first African woman to see every country

Princess Umul Hatiyya Ibrahim Mahama will be sharing her story later this month as part of TEDxAccra, an event inspired by the non-profit American organisation, TED.

TED works to support world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. It hosts conferences where the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes.

TEDxAccra will host a range of events and talks to inspire and educate attendees. The concept is to reflect ideas and inspire thinking of a new generation of African thinkers and leaders.

Ibrahim Mahama speaks internationally on leadership, is an entrepreneur, writer and has an appetite for travel, so far she has already visited over 60 countries on five continents, she has has hiked Sand Dunes in Namibia, scaled the Great Wall of China, and bungee jumped over Auckland Harbour Bridge (New Zealand).

She founded the PUH Foundation, an educational charity with a focus on building a first-class Africa, one classroom at a time, and she also cycles and runs marathons for charity.

Ibrahim Mahama says she wants to challenge and inspire her audience about living a passionate and purposely life.

“I will also be presenting some rhetorics and offering plausible solutions to the socio economic wellbeing of our nations.  Africa is at a crossroad. On one side the hope of Africa rising, and on the other side a myriad of corruption, abuse, and disorder looms. My talk will offer solutions on individual responsibility, leadership and cultural cohesiveness to make our continent work for us.”
