The world's first transgender beer is about to be served in a Soho bar.

No Label is a 'non-binary' brew made with hermaphroditic hops that have changed sex.

And the transsexual tipple, called No Label, will be available at the new Brewdog bar in London's West End later this week.

The beer is a Kölsch, neither a lager nor an alem and weighs in at 4.6 per cent ABV.

It is brewed using hops flowers which underwent a sex change from female to male just before being harvested.

The company have teamed up with LGBT events organisers, Queerest of the Queer, to launch the brew in a bid to take back Soho's sexual diversity.

Profits from beer will be donated to charities that support transgender youth communities.

The label reads: "Just like humans, we believe a beer can be whatever the hell it wants to be, and proud of it."

James Watt, co founder of BrewDog said: “No Label is a new level of innovation in beer, smashing stereotypes surrounding the brewing process and using hops discarded by the brewing industry due to their 'gender issues'.

"Producing this non-binary, post-gender beer has been a long and careful process and we’re sure that many so-called beer purists will question its legitimacy.

"But we care more about freedom than labels.Diversity makes everyone and everything richer.”
