The reviews of E.L James' new book are here and they are not friendly!!!

It has whipped fans into a frenzy with the promise of an insight into the depraved world of sadistic millionaire Christian Grey.

Even with fans all over being driven into a frenzy about a peek into the life of the sadistic billionaire, reviewers have slammed Grey, the latest instalment in EL James' Fifty Shades saga, which tells exactly the same story as her first novel - but from Christian's perspective.

They have also warned that fans hoping for an insight into the smouldering sex-icon's inner life will almost certainly be 'disappointed'.

The Daily Mail's Libby Purves said that large parts of the first book have been completely reproduced - making a film adaptation impossible.

Purves said: "With crafty economy of effort, Ms James has simply shadowed the whole plot of Book One, reproducing the clunky polystyrene dialogue word for word, and inserting italicised thoughts by Christian himself.

James also reproduces all the tediously samey sexual encounters, from the couple's first tryst, in which Grey refrains from hitting Anastasia, to the final flogging which makes her — very temporarily — leave him, on the bizarre pretext that she cannot be 'what he really wants'."

Jenny Colgan from the Guardian said that in many ways the follow-up is almost the 'same book' as every scene is followed in the same order.

Colgan also agreed that the book is 'far more realistic – and creepy beyond belief'.

The Telegraph's Bryony Gordon said the fourth book is: 'About as sexy as a misery memoir and as arousing as the diary of a sex offender.'

She voiced her disappointment that Grey, who she describes as a 'cut-price Mr Darcy in nipple clamps', is the best the 21st century can come up with in terms of a romantic literary hero.

And she lamented the fact that Grey had been transformed into a 'desperate sexual predator'.

The new book gives fans an insight into Grey's point of view in some of the raunchiest scenes, from the first time they have sex to the spanking in the red room.

She revealed that the billionaire, played by Jamie Dornan in the film, fell for Anastasia Steele quickly after their first full experience in the 'red room'.

But the novel has been ridiculed for it's poor dialogue with one reviewer singling out the phrase: 'Her sharp intake of breath is music to my dick'.

Nick Clark from The independent said the experience of reading the book was similar to the couple's lovemaking: 'Drawn out, racy, frequently painful and unintentionally hilarious'.

He slammed EL James' use of internal monologue, saying Grey's inner-most thoughts are almost 'exactly the same as what he says out loud'.
