Luxury brand's campaign banned for using 'underweight' model

UK's Advertising Standards Authority has banned Saint Laurent's Spring/Summer 2015 campaign!

Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2015 campaign

True to the ban on 'underweight' models, The UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2015 campaign featuring model; Kiki Willems.

The black and white images for the campaign showed Willems sprawled on the floor in an image and sitting like a 'boss' in another for the 'simple' ad campaign but the ASA won't have none of the modesty.

In a statement released via BBC, the ASA pointed out that the model’s rib cage was exposed and her thighs and knees appeared to be a similar width in the photos! Which goes contrary to the new regulations of model expected to be at a certain weight.

ASA wrote in a statement, “We therefore considered that the model appeared unhealthily underweight in the image and concluded that the ad was irresponsible” .

ASA recently banned Tom Ford and Miu Miu adverts for being inappropriate.
