Dr. Pimple Popper Brings Back a 'Blackhead Bonanza' in a New Instagram Post

Nobody likes it when their favorite artist gets too popular and stops playing the hits that made them famous in the first place. Clearly, Dr. Pimple Popper-aka, celebrity dermatologist Dr. Sandra Lee, MD-hasn't lost touch with what her fans want.

Dr. Pimple Popper Shared a Classic Blackhead Video

In a new Instagram post published on Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Lee threw things back to an old-fashioned blackhead extraction. In the brief clip, she uses her trusty comedone extractor to quickly remove a cluster of them. There's nothing particularly juicy here-she does quick work, and as an added bonus, patient and doctor spend the bulk of the clip "talking smack" about booze. (Dr. Lee, apparently, is into vodka or tequila, but thinks champagne is "a little foofy.")

Blackheads are a symptom of mild acne that most commonly form on the face and neck, according to MedicalNewsToday . People tend to think they're dark because they're "dirty," but the color is actually because the dead skin cells at the top of the blackhead become oxidized, which turns them black. Everything from your age to your hormones can play a role-any time your skin is overproducing sebum, you're at risk, because oil and dead skin cells clog the openings to your pores. As for getting rid of blackheads, squeezing and scrubbing them generally only stands to make things worse.

Instead, try exfoliating with a gentle foam face wash (we've included several in the gallery above), dry your skin with a retinol cream, and try using a charcoal mask once or twice a week, as dermatologist Heather Rogers, MD, of Seattle's Modern Dermatology previously told Men's Health .
