This Tiny House Somehow Has Room for a Whole Sauna

Part of the appeal of tiny home living is paring your belongings down to the bare essentials in order to be able to enjoy a simpler, some might say more authentic lifestyle . But moving into a tiny house on wheels doesn't necessarily mean giving up on the comforts and luxuries that make you happiest, as young couple Molly and Ken recently proved on the webseries Living Big in a Tiny House.

This Tiny House Somehow Has Room for a Whole Sauna

Their tiny house, which is currently situated in an R.V. park in Austin surrounded by other miniature domiciles, is packed with the kind of features and finishing touches that you'd be more accustomed to seeing in a luxury holiday apartment than a portable cabin .

The couple took out a "tiny house loan" in order to complete the house (which they managed to do with a budget of just under $80,000), and now their only real expense is the minimal rent at the R.V. park.

Measuring 267 square feet with a roomy 11 and a half feet high ceiling, the house has a bright and airy design , and is filled with plants. Molly and Ken wanted to bring as much natural light into the house as possible, so in addition to windows on every side, there are also three large skylights.

The living area includes a huge couch with a storage bin under each cushion, a pull-down projector screen for game nights, and a separate loft level for extra storage. Uncommonly for tiny houses, this unit has a whole staircase leading up to the bedroom level , and they've managed to pack as much storage space in there as possible too: there's a cupboard under the stairs, and the first three steps open up into compartments.

In the bathroom, there's a fully functional seat and non-compost toilet, a rainfall shower, and last but certainly not least, Molly and Ken's crowning achievement: their sauna .

It's a tight fit, only centimeters away from the shower, but they claim it's totally worth it, and was an absolute must when they were planning what to build into their ideal tiny house. Paired with the insulation in every wall, it helps keep the couple toasty during the colder months. And if you're into the idea of a tiny home with its very own sauna, you can buy one on Amazon right now.
