Watch These Bodybuilders Get Destroyed by the Marine Corps Fitness Test

As Charlie Hunnam , being a gym guy doesnt necessarily mean youve got functional, real-world strength. You can look buff as hell, but when it comes time to actually use those muscles, the results can be disappointing. A pair of British bodybuilders, and learned that lesson recently, when they took on the US Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT), only to find themselves (Mike, to his chagrin, failed.)

Bodybuilders Try to Survive Marine Fitness Test

Now theyre back with a , this time taking on the (PFT). The test has three parts: pull-ups (no time limit, but you cant let go of the bar), crunches (two minutes), followed by three-mile run. Last time, the buff pair admitted we're not exactly cardio people, and again its the running that has them worried.

Before that, though, Mike and Matt hit the pull-up bar. Matt puts up a respectable 18, panting when he finishes, Adding the dead-hang, full extension part makes it way harder. Mike cranks out 21, also looking winded. But both crush the Marine Corps minimum, which is 4 or 5 pull-ups depending on your age.

They move on to crunches, emphasizing that these are not situpsits a much smaller range of motion. Its arms crossed over the chest, rising up until elbows touch the legs. Matt says a pass is 70 reps in two minutes; a perfect score is 115. He goes first, hitting 87 with an exhausted exhale. Poor Mike loses this round, coming in with only 66 reps, thus failing as a Marine.

That makes the three-mile run the tie-breaker, and they decide to run together. Stripping off their shirts, they hit the track; just over 26 minutes later, they finish, with Matt collapsing on the ground in what sounds like dry heaves.

In the final tally, Matt finishes with a passing (but mediocre) score; Mike, thanks to the poor showing in crunches, fails. My abdominal endurance is shocking, he says. Even the finest sculpted muscles can let you down, Mike.

If you enjoy seeing these two bodybuilders wreck themselves, youll be glad to know that theyve promised to do it again with another as yet unnamed physical fitness testprovided they get 40,000 likes on this video.
