Meet Rita Kusi

TEDxAccra 2015 will take place on April 11 at the National Theatre from 7am to 7pm. It is expected to be the biggest TEDx event in Ghana to date. The theme for this year is “The Next Chapter”.

Rita Kusi is a Human Resources and Marketing Professional with over ten years’ experience in the field of Marketing and eight years in Human Resources. In 2012, she founded Keeping "U" Simply Intact (KUSI) Consulting, a marketing, training and recruiting company based in U.S. and Ghana. She is also the Managing Director at threesixtyGh, a subsidiary of KUSI Consulting, an online portal showcasing innovation in Ghana. Rita relocated to Ghana in May 2013 with hopes of using her experiences and expertise to aid in the development of the country. Rita believes strongly that Africans should tell their own stories to empower future generations and also balance out the stories of how Africa is portrayed in the Western world.

Why you should listen to her talk?

One of the aims of the threesixtyGh platform is to “empower ideas” and “celebrate our own.” Yes we hope to empower the youth and provide a virtual space to access information about everyday people developing Ghana. However, like receiving an award, we want the platform to show innovators how much they are appreciated. Sometimes all you need is a simple “keep up the great work” to feel empowered and to not give up. We have appointed ourselves as “the voice of innovation all over Ghana.” We are the voice for the voiceless and we are the voice for those who believe it is important to share their story.

Quote from Rita: “You can be great without a fancy educational background and million dollar bank account. All you need is genuine compassion for humanity, discipline, commitment, patience, perseverance and the desire to reach your goal.”
