Ray’s unveils new product to control your TV

A new product called the Ray Super Remote takes the form of a touchscreen universal remote

Ray has unveiled a new product which can be used as a universal remote for TV.

The Ray Super Remote offers multifaceted control of your home theater in a sleek design that looks and feels like a smartphone.

The interface for the remote is setup a lot like the phone you use every day, with a low-friction touchscreen so you can easily see what’s available, tactile keys on the side for volume and mute, and even a sleep/wake button.

The remote links to your Wi-Fi network to enable easy setup, and utilizes Bluetooth 4.0 and Infrared to work with devices both old and new.

Unlike your remote with lots of buttons, Ray Super Remote has a 4.8 touch screen that makes it easy for you to search and discover content available on TV.

Navigation has also been made easier with the Ray remote as it can pull up your local programming information for whatever service you use, allowing for search by channel or by specific content, using a pop-up keypad.

The Ray remote is also designed to learn what you like with constant use, allowing you to ask it questions, like when your favourite show is coming on.

Any programme you love, impute the information on the remote and it will adjust your program guide accordingly,  monitor your watching habits, and allow for up or down voting on content.

The Ray remote come with a 2,550mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Other specs include a dual-core ARM processor with 8GB of Flash storage and 1GB of RAM, seven transmitting LEDs, and a 1120 x 480 pixel resolution screen, all encased in an aluminum frame. The device also comes with USB charging cables and a charging stand.

According to reports, the Ray device will likely sell at $199 and now available for pre-order
