All The Reasons Why Mike Johnson Should Be The Next 'Bachelor'

In all 15 seasons of The Bachelorette, it's pretty easy to argue that Hannah Brown has had one of the greatest group of guys ever seen on the showwell, except for Luke P. , but this story isn't about him. No, my friends, this is about your future Bachelor (according to me), Mike Johnson. The 31-year-old Air Force vet walked right out of that limo on May 13 and directly into my heart, and I will stop at nothing until he gets his very own chance at love when The Bachelor season 24 premieres next year.

Why Mike Should Be The Next 'Bachelor'

Not convinced? Let me break it down for you.

Mike is not your run-of-the-mill 25-year-old aspiring model/actor that you typically see a gaggle of on The Bachelorette. He's a portfolio manager in San Antonio, Texas, and also an Air Force veteran, according to his show bio . He's 31, which would hopefully mean a bit more mature and grounded Bachelor cast. His interests include training in the military self-defense system of Krav Maga and going to trampoline parks (so active!), and he's been to 30 countries. He also really wants to learn Mandarin and try out Parkour. I stan an established, worldly, and well-rounded Bachelor!

On night one of The Bachelorette, Mike declared that there was already a number one woman in his life: his great-grandmother, of course. (This is in stark contrast to some other contestants who allegedly had, shall we say, number one women who aren't their grandma in their lives at the time of filming.) Anyways, please watch this video of Mike surprising his great-grandmother after being deployed, and get ready to cry:

We were robbed of a hometown date with Mike this season, so I think it's only fair he become The Bachelor so his adorable great-grandma can get some time in the spotlight. After all, you know he's not getting down on one knee without her approval!

Things got real for Mike in episode three when he revealed a super-personal story to Hannah about a past relationship. He had been expecting a child with his ex-girlfriend, but she miscarried in the second trimester. "I had the engagement set," he told Hannah. "I was just really ready to start a family. But, we lost our child." Mike also admitted that he wasn't as supportive of her as he could have been at the time, and "its just one thing that I could be a better man at." That couldn't have been easy to open up about, and his vulnerability earned him a rose from Hannahand pretty much solidified him as a fan favorite.

No, Mike didn't get along with Luke P. (Did anyone? No, they didn't.) While typically my instinct would be to scream at my TV and tell my precious Mike to sit back and not engage with the drama, I love that he always did it out of love for Hannah and respect for the other guys, because he couldn't stand to see them upset or mistreated. Plus, the way he handled the Luke situation proves he can bring both romance and a little bit of spice to the show.

Also, "millennial f--kstick" is just an incredible thing to say. Rolls right off the tongue. America needs more Mike one-liners!

When the other guys were talking to Hannah about their issues with Luke (and visibly agitating her), Mike always spent his one-on-one time with her getting to know her and trying to make her laugh. And his smile every time he was around her was absolutely contagious.

It's obvious that even though he didn't win Hannah's heart, Mike seems to have really grown from his time on The Bachelorette. "Grateful is an understatement!" he wrote on Instagram after he was eliminated. "The opportunity to find love, have an amazing adventure, and meet homies, some for life is a blessing." And he's 100 percent still hopeful for the future, if this post-show tweet is any indication:

Jus saying, my future wife thoughgirl you ready for smiles, adventure, comfort, growth, honesty, laughter, me falling using my inhaler and kissing your stretch marks and imperfections. Where u hiding Mike Johnson (@themikejohnson3) July 2, 2019

Do you hear that sound? That's thousands of women rolling up to the Bachelor mansion in a wedding dress, looking for Mike.

Fans have been pushing for the franchise to cast its first black Bachelor for years now, and for good reason. I mean, it's been 23 seasons! (Rachel Lindsay starred as the first black Bachelorette back in 2017.) Why shouldn't the history-making role go to the kind, charming, and very deserving Mike?

The most compelling evidence that Mike could actually do this thing? Ladies and gentlemen, host Chris Harrison speaking to People magazine : "Of course hes a contender [for Bachelor]," Chris said. "How could he not be a contender with that smile? Hes one of my favorite people weve ever had on the show. Hes a love of a man." If Mr. Bachelor Nation himself says it, it has to be true!

Entertainment Tonight's Lauren Zima spoke to Mike a few days ago and said that if he were to be asked to be The Bachelor, he would have "a lot of questions." "I take stuff like that very seriously," he said. "When it comes to pieces of the heart, there's no playing with that. I don't care if I'm on TV or not."
