  • In the second episode, she treats three patients with different skin concerns.
  • Dr. Pimple Popper and her team work to diagnose and safely remove the bump from the man's finger.

Only a handful of Instagram videos garner a sensitive content warning, but every episode of Dr. Pimple Popper with Dr. Sandra Lee, MD, comes with a stern disclaimer: Viewer discretion is advised.

In episode two of Dr. Pimple Popper 's third season, viewers get a front-row seat to see how Dr. P deals with her patient Gerald's massive finger tumor , which other docs had mistaken for a lipoma.

At first it seems this bump has Dr. P is stumped, so she calls up an orthopedic hand surgeon to take charge of this removal. "We want to remove it entirely so we can at least ensure that it is all out," she says.

Dr. Pimple Popper looks on as the surgeon starts slicing into the growth and finds a vascular tumor inside. "This is a one in 20-year kind of a thing," she says. The hand surgeon has to cut around nerves to preserve mobility and sensation throughout Gerald's finger.

Check out this video of Gerald's tumor:

When he finally snips it completely off of the finger, everyone breathes a sigh of relief. It was touch and go for a while. "That's amazing, take a picture of that," he says. Dr. Pimple Popper jokes, "I should have done it in the office." The doctors' final verdict: It may be a

chondroid syringoma, a rare (but benign) type of tumor. "I've never seen anything with strawberry jam come out of it," Dr. Pimple Popper says.

"I felt I had a burden lifted," Gerald says. "I see the beginning of a new life. The old me is gone and the new me is here."

He can celebrate, but Dr. Pimple Popper has another patient to treat. Vinnie is a 14-year-old boy has a massive birth mark on the back of his neck. He says, "People stare at it and call him names." It was much smaller when he was born, about the size of a quarter with a lightning bolt in the middle. People call him "poop neck" so he hides it by wearing a hoody.

His mom is hesitant but supports Vinnie's choice to speak to a dermatologist to learn more and see what, if anything, can be done. Dr. Pimple Popper says it's a congenital nevus, which is a fancy word for mole. They can extend down below the surface of the skin, and Dr. Pimple Popper says he has some reason to be concerned. Moles have a higher risk of developing skin cancer.

She says that a mole of this size can be removed but requires multiple sittings with "tissue expanders" to stretch the skin. "This is a long, laborious painful process," she says.

Ultimately, they decide not to remove the mole, but Dr. Pimple Popper doesn't leave it totally untouched. She slices off a few of the prominent bumps and takes a biopsy. "I came with a birthmark and I'm leaving with a birthmark," Vinnie says. "I'm perfectly fine with that."

Last but not least, Lita is 50 years old and has a large lump on her left leg. She says it's embarrassing and has grown from the size of a grape to an orange protruding from her leg after 10 years. She uses medical tape and Spanx to smooth it out every day. "There's a lot of days I'd rather just stay in bed," she says. "I'm afraid she won't be able to take it out."

When Dr. Pimple Popper meets her, she says "You look too cute to be here." Dr. Pimple Popper knows this large lump won't be an easy pop, but she's up for the challenge. Her patient is a good sport and sings (yes sings) her way through the removal to calm herself. "It's a talkative one," Dr. Pimple Popper says. "Sometimes there are squeaky noises. I think lipomas talk to me."

Whether it was talking to her or not, Dr. Pimple Popper pulled it out piece by piece and it's long gone.

Phew, that was a lot to take in, er out, in one evening. I can't wait to see who comes to Dr. Pimple Popper on the next episode.
