Miley, who recently announced that she quit smoking pot, told Jimmy Fallon that this was the first time in recent history that she wasn’t high on his show. "I've always been very stoned on your shows,” she said. “I don't know if you know this anyway."

She then threw out a few examples, just in case you didn’t believe her. "It's weird to be here—remember the last time I was here, I think I was dressed as like a bunny rabbit and then like a cat," she said. "There's a reason for that. I was high."

Miley told Jimmy that she stopped smoking pot because she wanted to be more clear-headed. "To sit here, and talk about what I'm doing, I wanted to be really clear," she said. "Because I'm actually the most passionate about what I'm doing with this record than I've been—I say this every time, but I loved making this record so, so much,” she added. “And this record for me at this moment is the most important album that I've ever made."

Miley said she also kept having a nightmare that her pot use would turn deadly. “I had a dream that I would die during my monologue on SNL for some reason. That I would just get so stoned that I'd just died, which I've Googled and that's never happened,” she said, adding, "It's like no one's ever died from weed, but no one has ever smoked as much as I did soo…"

This isn’t the first time Miley has talked about quitting pot: She told Billboard in early May that she stopped smoking “for a second.” “I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open,” she said. “And I was noticing, it’s not the people that are stoned. I want to be super clear and sharp, because I know exactly where I want to be.”

Other changes in Miley's life: She’s back together with her former fiancé Liam Hemsworth and wrote her new single “Malibu” about him. She also says she learned a lot from their breakup. “I think, know, that everything is happening for the right reason, and I knew that when we weren’t together for the first time,” she said last month of their initial breakup. But, she tells Jimmy, there’s no telling what will happen in the future: “I never know what the hell I want."
