Sarah Hyland Thanks Brother On Kidneyversary

Sarah Hyland posted a photo with her brother, Ian Hyland, to Instagram.
The Modern Family actress thanked her brother, who donated his kidney to her two years, for "the gift of life."
Sarah, 28, has had two kidney transplants and 16 different surgeries.

Sarah Hyland is finding a lot to be thankful for lately. Today, the 28-year-old Modern Family actress is especially thankful for her younger brother, Ian. She posted a photo and shared a sweet message, thanking him for donating his kidney to her two years ago.

While celebrating her successful kidney transplant and her sibling, the photo also commemorates what Sarah calls her "kidneyversary." She captioned the photo: "2 years ago today my precious little brother gave me the gift of life. Thank you for not only giving me your f*cking kidney but for everything else you do. I love you so much @thehotterhyland happy Kidneyversary!!!!"

Sarah was born with a condition called kidney dysplasia in which the kidneys, or parts of the kidneys, didn't fully form in the womb, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).

As a result, she's had 16 surgeries throughout her lifetime, including two kidney transplants one from her father in 2012, and the other from her brother in 2017 because her body rejected the first.
