In Dallas, the vegetarian menu featured the Vegetarian Crunchwrap Supreme, 7-Layer Burrito, Vegetarian Quesarito, and Bean Burrito (don't worry, those meatless faves are here to stay). But the new nationwide menu has expanded to include two new items: the Black Bean Crunchwrap Supreme and Black Bean Quesarito. All these menu items are certified by the American Vegetarian Association (AVA).
Are those the only vegetarian menu items at Taco Bell?
Short answer: Nope. While the new meals will be front and center on the in-store vegetarian menu board, they arent the only AVA-certified vegetarian items offered at Taco Bell (yay!).
"Already, nine percent of all items ordered at Taco Bell are either vegetarian or made vegetarian by some type of substitution or removal, and Taco Bell sells 350 million vegetarian items a year," the fast food chain previously told Women's Health . Those vegetarian items include the Spicy Tostada, Cheesy Roll-up, Cheesy Bean & Rice Burrito, and Cheese Quesadilla.
When in doubt, just look out for the vegetarian symbol on the menu board.
How can you order Taco Bell's vegetarian menu items to be vegan?
If you're vegan and reading all these cheese options wondering, "What about me?"you're in luck. All of Taco Bell's items are **customizable**.
A representative of the brand told Women's Health that vegan customers can easily make the items on Taco Bell's new vegetarian menu vegan by ordering them "Fresco Style." This replaces mayo-based sauces, cheeses, reduced-fat sour cream, and guacamole with freshly-prepared pico de gallo. Yum!
So you'll have plenty to choose from on September 12. Go ahead and live mas!
