David Lee does not have an NBA home at the moment after being waived by the Boston Celtics, but that may not last long.

The Celtics waived the two-time All-Star and 2015 NBA champion on Friday, just seven months following his trade from the Golden State Warriors, though another team is thought to be hot on his trail.

According to reports, the Dallas Mavericks are interested in adding Lee.

The Mavs are in sixth place in the Western Conference and thought to be looking for another big man to help out up front.

"We thank David for his contributions to our organization and wish him nothing but the best in the future," Celtics President Danny Ainge said in a team statement.

Lee averaged 7.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 30 games for the Celtics this season.
