Ghanaian sprinter wins Most Outstanding Athlete at MEAC Championship
The 20-year-old female sprinter won a total of four gold medals at the just ended event, making her the most outstanding athlete at the championships.

Martha Bissah’s career has been on the rise since winning a gold medal in the Girls' 800-metre race at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics, and does not seem like slowing down anytime soon.
She won two of her gold medals on Saturday after pulling away in the mile (4:53.48) and 3,000 meters (10:13.70). Earlier on in the week, she won the 800 metres race, and was part of the Spartans' 4x400 meter relay team that won its heat.
The Spartans finished fourth overall in the event with 72 points. The championship was eventually won by North Carolina A&T who recorded 145 points, with Florida A&M and Hampton coming in second and third place having also amassed 94 and 73.5 points respectively.
Bissah’s feat means she becomes the first female athlete to be adjudged the most outstanding athlete at the MEAC Championships since All-American sprinter Debbie Dunn won that honour in 1999.
Martha Bissah will be looking forward to chalking more success when the Spartans head for their next assignment in a month’s time. The Spartans will compete in the outdoor track season will kickstart at William & Mary on March 17.
