Twelve GHS officials interdicted in CMS fire report

The Attorney General has revealed that one Samuel Dogbe was behind the fire that razed down the Central Medical Stores at Tema, in January 2015. The report by the committee that investigated the incident also stated that the fire was an arson attack. The 12 officials of the CMS have also been named as suspects.

Cedi predicted to tumble Gh¢4.7 to a dollar

An Economic analyst at Databank has predicted the cedi will fall to GHC 4.7 to a dollar by end of the year. According to him certain external factors coupled with an increased demand for foreign exchange would put pressure on the local currency.

EC Staff announce strike after failed salary negotiations

The staff of the Electoral Commission (EC) have threatened to go on a nationwide strike on Febraury 22, 2016 due to their poor conditions of service. According to a statement from the Senior Staff Association, "all salary negotiations undertaken with the relevant institutions and authorities since 2012 have yielded no resolution."The statement also outlined a series of action the EC staff will take if their plight is not heard before hand.

Juventus player suffers new injury

Ghana international and Juventus player Kwadwo Asamoah has suffered a new injury blow and is set to undergo a medical check-up. The Black Stars player is set to miss the Italian Serie A game on Sunday as Juventus will not risk aggravating his injury taking into account the fitness trouble Kwadwo Asamoah has gone through in the past year.
