A TV3 investigation has revealed Ashok Kumar is currently in a 30-year marriage with Seema Nambiar Ashok even though he claims to be married to another Ghanaian woman.

Ashok Kumar Sivaram was deported on June 1, 2017, following a directive to the Ghana Immigration Service by the Interior minister Ambrose Derry.

This came on the back of claims that he obtained a fake marriage certificate to enable his stay in Ghana.

But Ashok Kumar Sivaram who had lived in Ghana for almost a decade denied those claims.

He is said to have applied for a resident permit in Ghana in 2008 and stated on his application document that he was divorced but gave no documentation to that effect.

In 2015, he applied for a renewal and said that he was married. But this raised suspicion, compelling the Ghana Immigration Service to question the certificate backing his new marriage.

Meanwhile, the latest revelations that he is still married to his Indian wife, has come as a sort of surprise to the Ghana Immigration Service.

The Service believes that he deliberately concealed that information from them and has vowed to investigate why the Indian businessman did not declare that information in his application documents.

Ashok’s wife who said she has two children with the Indian businessman has said that she will depend on the investigation by the Ghanaian authorities to pursue a case of bigamy.
