Owner of Montie Fm, three others cited for contempt

The judges after citing the four for contempt issued a warrant for their arrest

 

The judges have subsequently issued a warrant for them to appear before them and answer to the charge of contempt.

Two political commentators, Alistair Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn appeared on Accra-based Montie FM and tried to incite people against the Supreme Court judges for their judgment on the Voters’ register.

An audio recording of their comments have since gone viral on social media with the Media Foundation for West Africa condemning their conduct.

The host of the show Mugabe Maase is being accused of allowing the two men to go ahead with their comments uninterrupted.

The panelist have sinceapologised for their comments. Deputy Interior minister James Agalga has also indicated the preparedness of the security forces to beef up security for the judges.

Pulse.com.gh court correspondent said the judges had taken notice of the comments by the panelist and they have been ordered to appear before them. The judges however did not disclose the date the four are to appear before them.
