The Western regional branch of the Muslim Students Association is warning school heads to desist from forcing Muslim girls to partake in beauty contests on campus. It follows reports that the Sekondi College and Diabene Senior High school in Takoradi are forcing their female students into beauty contests. The association is unhappy about the development, arguing that the Quran frowns on such acts.President of the Muslim students Association, Alhassan Mohammed Baidoo told Starr News Muslim girls must not be forced to partake in such beauty contests.“If the girls themselves are willing to do so, then we have no problem because that will be between them and Allah. But when the student is in the senior high school and the administration forces her to contest, then it is a problem and we think it must stop,” he stated.Source:Ghana/StarrFMonline.com/103.5FM
