Kwesi Appiah to meet with Abedi Pele over the return of Ayew brothers

There are reports that coach Kwesi Appiah will meet the father of Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew regarding the players return of the England based players into the Black Stars.

The Ayew brothers have been left out of the Black Stars squad on two consecutive call ups by the gaffer after the duo opted out of Ghana’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Congo in Brazzaville.

It is understood that action was deliberately taken to instill discipline in the Black Stars.

However, a section of Ghanaians suggest Kwesi Appiah is being vindictive against the Ayew brothers as a way to pay their father Pele back due to what happened in Senegal 1992 when the former was stripped of his Black Stars captaincy in favour of the three times African Football of the Year.

According to Ghanasoccernet a meeting will take place between the two former Black Stars teammates before Appiah travels to meet the Ayew brothers in England.

The perceived captaincy struggle between the Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan and his deputy, Andre Ayew is also one of the issues that Kwesi Appiah needs to deal with since it has divided the team into two.
