BoG instructs MD of Apex Bank to proceed on leave
On Monday, members of the Union of Commerce and Finance Workers embarked on a two-day nationwide protest against Kwadwo Aye Kusi accusing him of procuring equipment for the Bank against the procurement procedures.
This was contained in a letter signed by the Acting Head of the Financial Stability Department of the BoG, Francis F. Blankson.
The letter directed that the Managing Director, Kwadwo Aye Kusi begins his leave from Monday, December 28.
This is to facilitate investigations into allegations of mismanagement levelled against him by the workers.
The Central Bank started investigating the matter after it received a petition from the workers on development at the Bank.
In a related development, the Deputy General Secretary of the Union of Commerce and Finance Workers John Amegashie has welcomed the decision by the Central Bank.
