A deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana ,Dr. Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku is favorite to be named as the new governor.
A replacement is expected to be named by the FlagStaff House for the position vacated by Dr.Henry Kofi Wampah early this week and Pulse.com.gh understands Dr.Issahaku will get the nod from the President.
Most analysts have predicted a choice between another deputy Millison Narh and Dr.Issahaku but the presidency seems to have been swayed by his wider experience dealing with the World Bank and the african Development Bank.
Prior to his appointment as Second Deputy Governor Dr Abdul –Nashiru Issahaku was the acting Chief Executive Officer of Export Development and Agricultural Investment Fund (EDAIF).
The president is believed to be motivated to replace the outgoing governor, Dr. Henry Wampah as soon as possible as advised by players of the financial industry in order to prevent uncertainty and room for speculation.
