Power Ministry declares end to loadshedding in Ghana

In the Satement, he Power Ministry said the Ministry of Power wishes to announce that the country's load shedding program in respect to the country's elecricity supply has come to an end.

The Power Ministry has declared an end to the country's protracted three year load shedding excercise. This was contained in a statement released by the Ministry of Power Wednesday afternoon.

In the Statement, the Power Ministry said it wishes to announce to all Ghanaians that the country's load shedding program in respect to the electricity supply has come to an end.

The ministry thanked Ghanaians for their patience over the past four years and pledged commitment to continue improvements in the power sector to improve quality of electricity provision in the country.

The Power Minister Dr. Kwabena Donkor has come under a lot of pressure to resign this month December 2015 if the loadshedding doesn't end as he promised in the beginning of the year.

There have also been debates over what the minister actually promised, whether he promised to end power outages or planned loadshedding. For most, there is no difference between the two. This section of the public demanded the head of the Minister should the power outages continue into 2016. It is however unclear what the release of this statement means, that is, if Ghanaians are not going to experience power outages any longer.
