Infinix phones on high demand, as manager touts local market

Infinix Mobility is a Hong Kong based company with headquarter in Shanghai for its research and development center (R&D) and Paris as design center.

 

“In Ghana, the smartphone market has become more and more large, Cai said. “It provides a good chance for Infinix to become large.”

Speaking on a wide range of issues concerning the company’s operations in Ghana, Cai revealed that Infinix Mobility supplies Infinix products to Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya, Cote D'ivoire and Ghana.

On why they decided to come to Ghana, Cai quoted German-based GFK report that said Ghana is a hub for smartphone market.

The GFK Group is an international market research organization providing services in the three sectors Custom Research, Retail and Technology and Media

Cai said their market survey reveals that Ghanaians want a smartphone that is good, quality and at an affordable price.

He says his team in Accra have been able to meet local demands by providing quality phones at affordable prices.

He revealed that they use to sell an average of 10,000 phones in a month and that the number of sales have increased to about 50,000 pieces a month.

“So it is a huge improvement,” he said.

Cai said the company is not only interested in making sales, but it is also empowering and training its staff.

He said the company has a Chinese team that trains “our local team on how to improve the software, how to test the software and how to give a good service to the customers.”

He said Infinix phones are designed to suit Ghana’s climatic conditions, adding that additional customer service centres are going to be opened in Tamale, Takoradi and Ho to attend to challenges customers may have with their Infinix phones.
