Regular power supply across the country has been affected in the last few weeks following a 200 megawatts short fall in power generation as compared to electricity demand.

A cut in gas supply from N Gas of Nigeria to Ghana, fuel supply challenges to thermal plants in Tema and Takoradi and low water levels in the Akosombo and Bui dams have compounded the situation.

President John Mahama has admitted that the country was not out of the power crisis just yet even though the situation was better than it used to.

According to the Deputy Executive Director of ACEP, Ben Boakye, the ECG must publish a new load shedding timetable.

ACEP says it is also skeptical about the recent promise by President Mahama that effective July 1, 2016; Ghanaians will heave a sigh of relief when the current electricity tariff is adjusted.Ben Boakye says this can only be possible when government can subsidies the tariffs which is highly unlikely.
