Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur has assured the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) zone of government commitment to transform the zone so as to attract right investors and accelerates the development of the area.
Vice President reiterates Gov’t commitment to SADA
In a speech read on his behalf by Mr Akwesi Oppong-Fosu, Minister in-charge of Development Authorities at the launch of a Master Planning Exercise for SADA, Amissah Arthur said the zone is endowed with resources if harnessed could create employment opportunities for many.
The event was on the theme: “Planning to transform the Savannah zone”.
The master plan among other things will spell out a robust and clear vision and also provide investment guide.
Amissah Arthur praised the Authority for re-orienting the focus of SADA into a viable venture.
He said SADA since 2012 has facilitated many interventions to help transform the zone including the SADA millennium Villagers Programme which works in two regions, improving health, education and agriculture.
The zone occupies 54.4 per cent of the land area of the country, comprising 64 administrative districts in the Northern, Upper West, Upper East regions and the northern parts of the Volta and Brong Ahafo regions.
