Soni Anwal unveiled as New Deputy MD of UBA

The bank over the years has played a leading role in innovation and customer satisfaction and to augment this, a new and fresh approach by the bank to innovate and transform banking along with its customers reiterates this appointment.

Mr. Anwal comes with over 20 years of banking experience and has spent the latter years of this experience in retail banking & marketing.

Prior to his accreditation from Bank of Ghana and subsequent appointment as Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Anwal was the Regional Bank Head for United Bank for Africa Plc in Lagos, Nigeria.

Between 2009 and 2011, he was the Managing Director for UBA Sierra Leone, where he provided leadership for the day to day running of the bank. He has worked in various capacities in Nigeria’s financial services industry where he acquired strong strategic management, leadership, marketing and people skills. He is highly trained at building and leading strong teams to meet set objectives.

Mr. Soni Anwal obtained an MSC degree in Economics from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology Business School in Nigeria.

Indeed, he is very well known and highly respected here in Ghana having served as regional Director for Nigeria for many years.”
