Police have arrested a 23-year-old student said to be a member of a syndicate that blackmails ladies and circulates their nude pictures on social media.

The computer technology student was arrested for threatening to circulate a fake nude picture of one Sheilla Osei Mensah if she does not offer him Gh¢800.

The computer technology student, named Desmond Attipoe was arrested by the Ahenkro police in Afigya Kwabre District of the Ashanti region for threatening to circulate a fake nude picture of one Sheilla Osei Mensah if she does not offer him Gh¢800.
He was arrested last Saturday by four men at the Rockview hotel at Konum-Afrancho and was later handed over to the police, the Graphic Online reports.

The student, Attipoe presented himself as a lady on Facebook and requested to be a friend of Sheilla, the 21-year-old private business woman at Suame.
After Sheila had accepted his request, Attipoe used his feminine status to require for more information from Sheilla. He subsequently sent another friend request as a white man and later asked to have Sheilla’s picture.
He later presented himself at Attipoe, picked a nude picture, edited that picture and placed Sheila’s face on it.
Attipoe subsequently sent that nude picture to Sheilla on WhatsApp and began making financial demands.
Police say he threatened to circulate the picture if Sheilla failed to pay Gh¢800 or agree to have sex with him.

Sheilla, with the help of friends, lured Attipoe to the hotel for sex where he was arrested and handed over to the police.
