Allow Afoko, Agyepong access to their offices – Nana Addo

Nana Akufo-Addo has asked party members to allow Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong access to their offices.

NPP flagbearer for the 2016 presidential elections, Nana Akufo-Addo has instructed that the party’s national chairman PaulAfoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong must be allowed access to their offices at the party’s headquarters.

“…that the officers of the party, the National Chairman and the General Secretary in particular, must have access to their offices at party headquarters and not be hindered in any way from being able to conduct their duties. The NPP way of doing things is to be guided by law and order and I ask that normalcy return to our headquarters and party offices. I ask that we extend mutual respect to each other and we listen to each other,” he said.

According to Nana Addo physically stopping leaders from accessing their offices and other violent acts is not the way of the New Patriotic Party.

The two national party officers have been denied entry to the party’s headquarters following the killing of the party’s Upper East regional chairman Adams Mahama.

The party’s security nicknamed the ‘Invisible’ have taken over the headquarters and prevented the two beleaguered executives from entering their respective offices following accusations that they masterminded the killing of Mr Mahama.

But addressing party supporters on recent happenings at the party’s headquarters on Friday, the former Member of Parliament forAbuakwa South said such behaviour must not be tolerated in the NPP family. He advised that the two national executives be allowed immediate access to their offices.

"Whilst we continue with the period of mourning for Chairman Adams and until the party’s governing bodies meet, I ask that we normalize things within our party.

"This means, for instance, that the officers of the party, the National Chairman and the General Secretary in particular, must have access to their offices at party headquarters and not be hindered in any way from being able to conduct their duties," he stated.

Nana Addo further added that members with concerns over the recent developments in the party must go through the laid down procedures to get them resolved.
