The Regional Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Sandy Amartey made the disclosure to the media.

According to him, in the same district, two kids drowned in a pit that had been dug to collect rain water at Antaado, with another man getting electrocuted.

At Idan in Cape Coast, another lady died when a wall fell on her. Another victim drowned in the Akora River at Swedru in the Agona West municipality.

What is more, two other children died at Winge near Kasoa when they fell into a pit while playing.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has predicted more rains in the coming days, following last Thursday’s heavy downpour which flooded major parts of the Greater Accra regional capital.

The Agency had earlier warned Ghanaians to avoid fast flowing water, move from lower ground to higher places if need be and call emergency lines- including 112 should the need arise.

Meanwhile, the situation in the Central region has rendered many residents homeless. Residents living in flood prone areas have been asked to relocate.

Officials of the National Disaster Management Organization have began assisting victims with some relief items.
