The queen of the Ga Stool, Naa Dedei Omadru III, has charged the kingmakers of the Ga State to ensure that the rightful king is enstooled and all grievances settled before the celebration of the annual Homowo festival of the Ga people.

Her comments come on the back of controversy surrounding who the legitimate king of the Ga State is.

As it stands now, there are four claimants to the stool since the demise of Ga Mantse Nii Amugi II in 2004.

Apart from the current Ga Mantse, Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II, the two other claimants to the stool are Ayittey Canada, now deceased, and Dr Kelvin Tackie Abia.

But the Abola Piam kingmakers insist that Nii Obli was the legitimate chief of the Ga State, thereby nullifying the reign of the current Ga Mantse, Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II as well as, the late King Tackie Tawiah II, known in private life as Dr Jo Blankson.
The Office of the Ga Mantse has since asked the general public to ignore the enstoolment of Nii Tackie Obli II as Ga Mantse, saying he is an imposter.
But addressing some queens from the various communities in Accra, the queen of the Ga Stool said the current back and forth about who the rightful king is will not augur well for peace and development in Accra.
She said that there is no Ga Mantse (chief) at the moment, and asked that a new one is enstooled with immediate effect.
On her part, Sempe Sukura Man-nye, Naa Adoley Ablade I, urged all the claimants and other persons involved in the disputes to put the interest of the Ga state first.
