BoG Thrown Out In Gov’t, Labour Case

The Bank of Ghana has been dropped as second defendants in a case between government and labour unions over pensions fund.

The Industrial and Labour court has thrown out the Bank of Ghana’s (BoG) attempt to be second defendants in a case between twelve labour unions  and government over the  the tier-two pensions management.

Justice Anthony Yeboah in his ruling stated that allowing the BoG as a defendant in the case will constitute an “abuse of the court.”

He noted that the laws governing the pension funds  do not give the BoG  any  mandate to manage the funds deposited with them.
