Knowing & Following The Will of God

The consequences of ignoring God's will are dire, as Jesus said; "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven

A will or testament is a legal declaration by which a person, the testator, names one or more persons to manage his or her estate (sum of the person's assets less all liabilities) and provides for the distribution of his or her property at death. Estates can be thus be passed from one person to another through a will.

The transfer of a large estate through a will, to another person can thus change the person's status and destiny.

Think I’m lying? Ask Mephibosheth. Mephibosheth was a descendant of Saul, yet he was crippled. Crippled people were kept outside the city gates, they were deemed unworthy in Jewish society.

"The king asked, “Is there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I can show God’s kindness?” Ziba answered the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan; he is lame in both feet.” “Where is he?” the king asked. Ziba answered, “He is at the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.” So King David had him brought from Lo Debar, from the house of Makir son of Ammiel.... “Don’t be afraid,” David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.” 2 Samuel 9:3-7

God brought Mephibosheth to the remembrance of the king, and his destiny changed in just a split second, because of the king's will! Hallelujah! May God remember you today! Imagine how tremendously your life would change if Bill Gates were to bequeath just a tenth of his estate to you!

What then I'm I driving at? If the will of a mere mortal, flesh and blood, can change the destiny of someone as 'useless' as Mephibosheth, how much more the will of God almighty, Maker of heaven and earth! Hallelujah!

What then is God’s will for you?

May we walk according to God’s will. Amen!
