Ghanaian doctor becomes the first black man to chair Young Neurosurgeons Committee

Dr. Edjah K. Nduom is the son of Ghanaian businessman and leader of Progressive People's Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom.
Dr. Nduom said he chaired his first meeting on Tuesday 25 April, said he was excited about the challenge and his new role.

Dr. Nduom wrote in a Facebook post:
"Last night, I led my first meeting as Chair of the Young Neurosurgeons Committee of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. In doing so, I have become the first African American Chair in the 26-year history of the committee. I have big shoes to fill in following my friend and colleague, Dr. Krystal Tomei, in this role, but I am excited by the challenge. Let's energize the next generation of neuron surgical leaders!"
He received his medical degree from Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and has been in practice for 6-10 years.
