The Executive Director of energy policy group, Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) has said President John Mahama must sack all his technical advisers who have consistently misled him with unreliable information.

Speaking on Starr FM’s Business Focus, Muhammed Amin Adams noted that unreliable information from the technical advisers made the president repetitively promise an end to the current power crisis. He has therefore called on the president to punish them with outright dismissal.

“Some people blamed the president some time ago and some people in government said the president was acting on the briefing from the technical people. The president has made promises upon promises. He has never fulfilled that; yet the technical people are still at post…” he wondered.

President Mahama, since 2012 has made several promises of an end to the crisis, but each deadline passed while the situation got worse. Many businesses have laid off workers because of high production cost as they resort to the use of generators.
