European mobile maker plans Africa expansion after success in Nigeria

Top European mobile player, Fly, is building upon its remarkable success in Nigeria to expand their base into other African countries

Since theirsuccessful entry into Nigeria in 2014, Top European mobile player, Fly, is ramping up expansion plans across Africa with an exciting range of new products in 2015.

Fly products have been on high demands in Nigeria and the company intends to build on this momentum and expand its reach in to African countries including Mozambique, Kenya, Ghana and South Africa.

The ‘Mobile Economy 2014: Sub-Saharan Africa’ report by the global mobility association, GSMA, predicts that the number of unique mobile subscribers in Sub-Saharan Africa will cross the half billion mark in 2020 as mobile services become increasingly affordable and accessible to millions of currently unconnected citizens across the region.

Fly plans to leverage on this this opportunity to launch its latest specification rich, technologically advanced mobile phones. The new product range – seven cutting-edge smartphones and a premium feature phone, all designed with best-in-class technology to deliver a unique user experience – will be available in phases across the region.

“Sub-Saharan Africa has been the world’s fastest-growing mobile region over the last five years, and as a leader in mobility, we at Fly want to be a part of Africa’s continuous development. We are building on our fantastic success in Nigeria with our strongest line-up yet of premium products as part of our contribution to help the people of Africa stay connected,” Managing Director of Fly, Nitin Sood said in a statement to .

“This new range is a further demonstration of our commitment to provide our customers with the highest quality of phones at competitive prices. Fly has built a very strong reputation in a very short space of time for constantly delivering on innovation and quality, and meeting the needs of our customers,” he added.

The new range will include the Fly Posh DS131 – a power-packed feature phone in a magnesium aluminum body – and a range of smartphones, including the Fly Epic -IQ4602, Fly’s first entry into the 6-inch phablet segment. The range will also include the 5-inch Fly Titan-IQ4511, a stylish device that features a powerful octa-core platform and double-sided Gorilla Glass.
