The task force, in their bid to arrest the illegal miners met huge resistance from them, as some of the illegal miners exchanged gunshots with the team.

After several minutes, the galamsey miners were dispersed but two illegal miners died in the process.

Some military men have been deployed to the area as investigations begin.
