At the beginning of the Ramadan, Bawumia encouraged Muslims to rededicate themselves to the universal human values of love, humility and empathy.
He said the 30 day period of fasting demands "great sacrifice, patient endurance, and gratitude". It should inspires Muslims to strive for the common values and experiences we share as human beings."
