The world will supposedly come to an end today, October 7, a Christian group has predicted.

The group has told humanity to prepare itself being “obliterated” by fire as soon as the clock strikes midnight.

The eBible fellowship, an online group for bible study, has published a series of lectures on Why October 7, 2015, is the Likely End of the World.

Chris McCann, who leads the Philadelphia-based group told the Guardian:“According to what the Bible is presenting it does appear that 7 October will be the day that God has spoken of: in which, the world will pass away.”

McCann said that, according to his interpretation of the Bible, the world will be obliterated “with fire”, as God promised not to cause another flood on the scale as that which afflicted Noah.

Although his theories rely on a lot of dodgy maths, McCann’s main message is that according to the Bible, the beginning of the process was on 21 May 2011, when God stopped the process of selecting which churchgoers will survive Wednesday’s carnage.

McCann has involved an element of doubt. “There’s a strong likelihood that this will happen.

“Which means there’s an unlikely possibility that it will not.”

The Facebook group has attracted a lot of people desperate for the world to end.

Reacting to the claim, one Alan Stanier said what everyone else is thinking: “The Bible has not prophesied October 7, 2015, for the end of the world. Some people, seduced into the sin of pride by the lies of Beelzebub, have chosen to interpret the Bible as prophesying so.

“On October 8th, when the world is still here, they will be shown to be false prophets.

“I would like to think they will confess their sin, and admit their minds are not capable of understanding the Mind of the LORD. But I suspect they will merely choose another date.”

This is not the first time claims have been made regarding the end of the world. However, such predictions over the years have failed and those who predicted had to come up with excuses regarding their misinterpretations.
