President of policy think tank, IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe, has described as ‘lawless’ the public screening of the alleged judicial scandal video.

Lawyers of embattled high court judge, Justice Paul Uuter Dery after suing the producers of the video, Tiger Eye P I and the Chief Justice and the Attorney-General, filed a suit to stop the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) from using its venue to screen the said video on September 22 and 23, 2015.

However, the exposé by Anas was premiered at AICC despite an application of interlocutory injunction served the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' property.

According to Mr Cudjoe who was speaking on Citi FM’s The Big Issue on Saturday, the video should not have been premiered considering the pending court suits filed by some of the indicted judges. He opined that the video screening should have been halted till due processes were followed.

“If we all decide that the day I will be caught doing something really sinful and then it would be screened for the entire world to see I am not sure I will be very happy about it. I am not too sure that I agree with the whole idea of public viewing of this without necessarily following the law. I believe strongly that the processes should have been cleared before it was shown. I think that clearly speaking it was one piece of lawless act; that’s my layman’s view. It is important that we follow the rule of law even if these people are indeed guilty,” he said.

Meanwhile, Justice Dery is set to drag the Managing Director of Global Cinemas, Ernest Boateng, to court for contempt. His suit is on the basis that Mr. Ernest Boateng has advertised his intent to air the judicial corruption exposé at his video center at Weija in Accra.

Managers of the movie house have insisted that they have done nothing wrong in showing the video on the judicial scandal. According to them, they have not received any injunction stopping them from doing so
