'I am devastated'- Bawumia writes in a short tribute to late aide

Kwabena Boadu is said to have died in his hotel room in Wa while on the campaign trail.

Dr Mahamadu Bawumia said: "Yesterday was one of the saddest days of my life. I lost my younger brother, friend and colleague, Kwabena Boadu, in Wa under circumstances I cannot still understand.

"Kwabena was simply brilliant, diligent, loyal, and honest. I was most fortunate to have met him. He was matured beyond his years and was a trusted confidant. I am devastated. It is just unbelievable. May his soul rest in perfect peace."

His moving words came after Nana Akufo-Addo said Kwabena Boadu is an “intelligent young man with a bright future.”

In a series of Tweet, Nana Akufo-Addo said the NPP is saddened by Boadu's death, sending his deepest condolence to his family.

In a tweet Saturday afternoon, Bawumia said Boadu will "always be in my heart."He also prayed for eternal peace for him.

On Friday, Bawumia visited the family home of his former aide to officially informed them of Boadu's death and commiserate with them.

Bawumia shed tears as he was not able to control his emotions when he met the bereaved family.

Samira Bawumia, wife of Dr Bawumia also eulogised him.

In a Facebook post, she wrote: "Yesterday was a very sad day for all of us. My husband's Press Secretary, Kwabena Boadu passed on. He was an intelligent, hard working young man and was liked by everyone. My deepest condolences to his family. We mourn with you all. May his soul rest in peace."

And Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, wife of Nana Akufo-Addo, described him as an "extremely talented young patriot."

"It's been a sad day as we have lost one of our own. Kwabena Boadu, aide to Dr. Bawumia was a young and extremely talented patriot. You have come far with us and your work will not be in vain. God be with you till we meet again," she wrote on Facebook.
